Timothy Capra

Healthcare Information Technology Consultant

Tim’s current focus is providing strategic consulting services to help clients achieve success in applying healthcare information technology to their clinical and operational initiatives. Tim has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare information technology field with healthcare provider, healthcare IT vendor and healthcare IT industry consulting organizations. During that time, Tim has developed significant expertise in the use of information technology in both acute and ambulatory care settings.

Tim has participated in the planning and development of strategies for the implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Health Information Exchange technology at many hospital based Integrated Health Networks, Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) and other statewide Health Information Exchange clients. These projects encompassed a wide range of information technologies including data interoperability, clinical data aggregation, clinical data registries, point of care clinical decision support, and data analytics among others.

Significant roles and project experience include:

  • Most recently working for IBM Corporation in the role of Healthcare Industry Consultant where he specialized in the application of data management, data warehousing and analytics technology to patient focused collaborative care, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Patient Centered Medical Home projects
  • Strategic and operational consulting on EHR data integration data across internal and external physician networks to achieve care coordination, enterprise analytics and meaningful use for health delivery networks and coordinated care (diabetes management) projects
  • Project management for the development and implementation of statewide web based data collection and management systems for birth registration and neonatal care data for operational and analytic purposes

Tim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University as well as other applicable coursework and seminars in healthcare information technology management.
