Conducting a security risk analysis is a core measure for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of Meaningful Use. The risk analysis is a formal review of an organization’s implementation of the HIPAA security rule that went into effect in 2005. Many practices don’t realize that the security risk analysis presumes that the entire HIPAA security rule has been implemented within an organization. A risk analysis must be conducted within the reporting period and updated at least annually. In addition, practices must correct certain security deficiencies before the end of a reporting period to be compliant with the rule. Let our professionals help your practice comply with this most important core measure.
